The first of a seven book series begins the story of a small Swedish coastal town and the many secrets its citizens hold. Erica Falck is a writer brought back to her home town to overcome her latest writer’s block as well as take care of her deceased parent’s home. When the death of her childhood friend sends their small town into a panic Erica is determined to find out what really happened to her. She realizes that for how well she knew her best friend she also knew very little about her double life. When Erica finds herself writing a novel paralleling her childhood friend’s death she knows she has to do anything to solve this mystery. The novel keeps you guessing up until the last pages and is very hard to put down! Better than “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”!

Hands down Irvings best novel. Owen Meany is like no other character or person you know; he makes you think, laugh and cry. The last 50 pages of this novel will teach you more than any other book you read.
