Every runner should read this book, and most that do will love it. Whether you are a leisurely jogger or an avid race runner, you will be inspired by the attitude and effort of the characters and race your way to the last chapter.

The Memory Keepers Daughter

I loved this story, one of a doctor-and-dad giving away one of his twins due to Down's syndrome. It is both shocking and heartbreaking. But I have to agree with the author that the most intriguing aspect of this story is the way so many lives are altered forever because of one decision. You won't want to wait to find out how the characters lives unfold.

Although this is fiction, everything this real life anesthesiologist describes is true, from the malpractice lawsuits in healthcare right down to the descriptions of the OR and its penchant for gossip and heavy eye makeup showing above a surgical mask. You will be frightened by the discovery in the end but come to understand that it is sadly common. As a nurse already fascinated by anesthesia, I loved this story and highly recommend to those in healthcare and those who are not.

I am very excited to read this. I'm a nurse who loves the recovery room so finding a novel by a anesthesiologist is a dream. I love medical drama, especially when it is written by someone who has experienced it firsthand.
