Persuasion
by
Jane Austen
Runner

Although Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' is her most celebrated and well-known novel but having read Persuasion I think it is by far Austen's best work. What makes Persuasion special is that it goes deeper than the light, subtle characters of Pride and Prejudice, as Persuasion evokes feeling of longing that the main characters feel for each other but you also their awareness of each other every time their in a room together. The main theme of love; enduring overtime and never wavering, is also a romantic concept that will capture the romantic hearts of readers. Overall this book is wonderfully written, with rich characters and a wry sense of humor that will please all Jane Austen fans.

Remember Me
by
Sophie Kinsella

If your looking for a light- hearted summmer read or a book to curl up on the sofa with 'Remember me?' is the perfect read. The main character Emma is unintentionally funny; getting up to embarassing, halarious, Bridget Jones antics that will have you laughing-out-loud from beginnnig to end as Emma tries to climb the career ladder and eventually finds love. This is definately a chick-lit with a satisfying end.

All Quiet On The Western Front
by
Erich Maria Remarque
Runner
, September 08, 2009
All quiet on the wastern front is a must read for all, it appeals to every generation and gives a unique view of life in the trenches from the soldiers point of view. The author was able to describe the carnage of warfare with great detail. As you read the book you began to feel the loneliness, pain, and depression the soldiers felt while fighting the war. Even when the main character was given a vacation where he returned home to his family you still feel the same feeling of hopelessness you got from when they were fighting on the front. Furthermore the devasation of the war, overtime as all of the main characters friends slowly died off is heart- rendering as you can feel the enivatibility of their deaths.
