War Brides

War Brides traces the stories of five women of different backgrounds who were brides at the beginning or during WWII and we lived in a small town outside of London during that time. Their experiences during the early years of the war in England offered a rare view into the hardships endured by those "on the home front". The characters were well drawn and their experiences explained with historical detail not often included. My only criticism was the ending which seemed somewhat unbelievable. An excellent read for anyone who enjoys good historical fiction.

A fascinating look at how one event links people from widely differing walks of life. A great read!
