Bloody Right

This is the third book in Georgia Evans' Brytewood series. This is my favorite. Returning war hero Gryffyth Pendragon comes home with only one leg. He falls in love with teacher Mary LaPrioux, who has been relocated from the Isle of Guernsey where the Nazis have taken over, with her students. She also is otherworldly. As the village holds knitting circles to knit for the soldiers, Gryffyth must face the future with one leg. He feels useless and unlovable. As he and Mary continue their relationship, Mary is unable to agree to marry him without knowing if they are compatible sexually since both are otherworldly. As the vampires continue to attempt to destroy the munitions plant, all the otherworldlies in the village must work together to rid Brytewood of the danger. The people of the village continue to work towards their futures--marriages, possible families. I loved these people. Also the end is open for another book with Alice's brother and I hope that happens. I hate to let Brytewood go.

Bloody Awful

This is Georgia Evans' second book in her Brytewood series and it just gets better. This story is about district nurse Gloria Prewitt who is a werefox. She falls in love with Andrew Barron, manager of the secret munitions plant in Brytewood and target of the Nazis' vampires. This series provides a slice of life of those who lived in small villages during WWII amidst the shortages of food and gasoline, bombings, loss of loved ones and friends, making do with what is available (a wedding dress from a parachute), joining together to provide a wedding meal, preparing for the future even if a future may not happen. As I read more about the villagers of Brytewood, I am coming to love them and hoping this series won't end.

Bloody Good

This is the first book in Georgia Evans' Brytewood series. It is set during WWII in a small British village where several otherworldly creatures live unknown to each other. The first story sets up the series and introduces the main characters. BLOODY GOOD is Dr. Alice Doyle's story. She is given a conscientious objector, Peter, to help her keep the villagers healthy. As she finds out his story, she feels horrible about judging him. She also discovers her otherworldliness as a Pixie. When the Nazis send vampires in to infiltrate Brytewood, Alice, her grandmother, and some of the other villagers work together to destroy them. This is a fun series. I love how the backdrop of WWII works so well with the story line of how everyone has to help with the war effort. Watching Alice go from non-believer to believer of being a Pixie sets up the series perfectly as we'll see in future books. Also watching Alice learn to accept that Peter can contribute to the war effort without being on the front lines make the story realistic. This is a good series.
