Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Princess Diaries 09 Princess Mia

When most people think Princess Diaries they probably think of the Princess Diaries disney movie with Ann Hathaway and Julie Andrews. Well forget about the movie. The book is the real thing. After reading the books in this series, one will realize that it is not directly related to the book and that the books are more enjoyable. I admit I did see the movie before I had heard of the books, and thought it was pretty good. But then I discovered the books and was in awe. these books truly were remarkable. To this day i still read these books, and Meg Cabot keeps writing more. I would suggest this series for women ages 10-25. This series is fun, romantic and a very enjoyable read. I would recommend picking up the first book and see how quickly you will love the series!!!

If you have trouble getting your kids to read, or have trouble your self i would recommend reading the Harry Potter series. Not only are they a great series but they encourage imagination. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the first book i completely loved. When I was in 5th grade i had a lower reading level than my actual grade. I was first introduced to Harry Potter in the 5th grade, and since the first page i read, I have loved reading. after reading Harry Potter 1, i completed the rest of the books in the series that were out, and began reading many various books. I owe my love of reading to Harry Potter.
