When I read this book two yrs ago, I recommended it and passed it along to others to read. Without the freshest of memories, I can still say I highly recommend both The Blood Spilt and the book written just prior, The Ice Storm (title?), for the engaging characterizations, intriguing narratives, and vivid settings.

Honesty! I am presently ORDERING the book, because I am thrilled with what I read re the motivations behind, and long gestation period of, SMASH! I'm a Mom who loved comics as a kid and couldn't agree more with the authors' responses to current comics (silly name for not-so-comic stuff). Personally, I loved Lulu and friends, but until someone brings her back, I'll gladly read Smash.
