Courtesans Money Sex & Fame in the Nineteenth Century
by

In the nineteenth century it was apparently very easy for the average woman to fall afoul of society over what would be a harmless fling today. So life was full of secrets and restrictions for the average woman unless you had already fallen out of favor. Then you could do just about whatever you wanted as long as you could keep the money rolling in. The stories of these women reflect the rare freedom that came from being outside of the restrictive society.

This is a series of novelettes that show the progression of an alternate universe. All four stories are good but I felt the first, Wild Seed, was the best. I also thought the main characters in Clay's Ark, the doctor and his daughters, were very vibrant.
