110 Irish Button Accordion Tunes: With Guitar Chords [With 2 CDs]
by
Munnelly, Dave
John Dally
, January 15, 2011
This is a very good learning tool. The CD/book combination is great way to pick up tunes by looking and listening. The tempo of the tunes is easy to play along with, but you can get them to go slower or faster if you play them through the Amazing Slow Downer, which is available for free on the net. Munnelly's style is unique as far as I can tell, with a lovely lilt in the tunes even at high speed.

Full disclosure: I am the author. My intention is to provide a brief description of the book. It is 136 pages, 8X10.5, with over 40 historical B&W photographs, 140 tunes set for the Scottish Highland bagpipe (suitable for other melody instruments such as fiddle, accordian, whistle, flute, etc.), and also containing essays on the history of piping in the Pacific Northwest. Composers included are the author, Barry Shears, Donald Sutherland, John W. Sutherland, D.C. Mather, Tim McCarthy, David Lanigan, Anna Murray, to name a few.
