Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

In the words of Lauren Conrad, "OMG!" When I picked this book up at Barnes and Noble I thought, "Lauren Conrad wrote a book! what a joke!" but I'm so so glad I gave this book a chance. It all starts when Jane and Scarlette move to L.A and their lives start to get interesting after they get invited to be on a reality t.v show called L.A Candy. At first Jane isn't sure but the shows producers promise her she will go from "uncomfortable" to "comfortable". This story has hot guys, cool night clubs and oh yeah celebrities! So get a sugar rush on the book L.A Candy by Lauren Conrad

Dealing with money in this world is hard! Just ask Becky Blomwood. Becky is a "Shopaholic" and is about $2000 dollars in debt. With the help of her friends and the "hunky" new boss at work Becky will over come dreaded obstacles like Sales at stores, Visa bills and land lords. Confessions of a Shopaholic will sure to make you laugh and I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 12.

Chronicles of Prydain 01 Book Of Three
by
Lloyd Alexander

What makes a hero? In The Book Of Three by Lloyd Alexander even the most unlikely boy can become a hero. when my teacher told us we were going to be reading a book about a fantasy pig I was very skeptical about reading it but now I am so glad I did. The story starts with Taran (the main character of the book and also an assistant pig keeper.) Taran is taking care of Hen-Wen. Now Hen-Wen isn't your average pig, she is an oracular pig. While Taran is watching her she breaks free and runs into the forest. She runs away because she knows that the Horned King is coming and she is afraid. Taran runs into the forest after Hen-Wen. Taran would have never expected the adventures he would come upon. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great novel.
