Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Enchanted Forest 04 Talking to Dragons
by

A wonderful 4th book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, you do have to read the 3rd first, as it is almost a part 2. This book does a great job answering the question of 'what happens next' with the Enchanted Forest, who else might be wandering around the forest, and would a cat and a lizard get along? If you enjoy fantasy stories with dragons, evil (or dumb) wizards, a quest (that the person didn't know they were on), surprising turns of events, unconventionality, and a sword (that seems to have a mind of its own), then you will enjoy the entire series!

This is the first of four books, and it starts out awesome. Cimorene is a princess who prefers latin, sword-fighting, magic, and cooking to embroidery and dancing. So she runs away to the dragons. They will never be the same.
