Lets Take the Long Way Home A Memoir
by
Gail Caldwell
Tira Meesu
, January 19, 2012
This book is a memoir written by the surviving friend of a unique duo. Both are successful journalists; both independent women. We can feel the way each expands the other's life; I learned more about the sport and art of rowing than I ever thought I'd find interesting (but I did). This book is a page-turner as well as a meditation on how to build and sustain important friendships.

History of Love
by
Nicole Krauss
Tira Meesu
, January 19, 2012
Nicole Krauss offers readers a journey into the lives of people we want to know. Her writing, her inhabiting of each character, and the interconnected plot and ideas challenge us to both enjoy the story and question our assumptions. This is a beautiful story of an old man, a young girl, a family of choice and of history. The tears on the pages were shed in the full range of feeling elicited by this book.
