This is a very impressive book. Koomson is usually an excellent writer and she does not dissapoint with this book. The novel centres around two characters, who committ an act that changes the rest of their lives. The plot alternates between two characters, with an exciting plot and a strong element of mystery running through the narrative leaving you guessing till the end.

The Trial

This book has echoes of Orwell's 1984, so if you liked that then you'll love this noevl. The novels plot is centred around a man who is arrested out of the blue, under house arrest and imprisoned and is not told what crime he has committed- which is meant to be both a warning and a message about the influence and increasing power of the governments and corporations on peoples lives, where mass culture has left people disconnected and alienated. This book is definately a must-read, it's intresting with it's darkly funny moments and its increasingly relevant to todays society where the governement and rich have free reign to do what they want. Overall 5 stars.
