Waiting For The Moon

Kristin Hannah

This novel is filled with so many interesting characters! At first Ian appears to be very brusque, loves to be alone and is a brooding sort of man. He has given up being a doctor because of a unique ability he has that he feels gets in the way of really helping people. He lives in a mansion with his mother, who he has a very strained relationship with, and many other unique people. Each of them has their own struggles, but the unexpected arrival of Selena brings them all together and gives them new-found joy and a reason to celebrate their lives. Once again Kristin Hannah has woven a story that is suspenseful, heart-breaking at some points, but also filled with hope. I found myself hoping for positive changes in her characters, and I was not disappointed.

Comfort & Joy

Kristin Hannah is one of the greatest writers out there if you like to read stories that really tug at your heart. This book did just that for me. It is a well-constructed novel with huge surprises that I honestly did not see coming at all. It's the story of a woman who is going through a mid-life crisis, so to speak. She's newly divorced and has been deeply hurt by her ex-husband and her sister. She spontaneously decides to go an adventure after finding out some devastating news and ends up being used to bring a boy and his father back together after their recent emotional fall-out. If you love Kristin Hannah's books, but haven't read this one, I know you will love it! If you have never read her books, this one may get you hooked on her as a new favorite author. I highly recommend it for anyone in need of hope right now.

Great Expectations

Great Expectations was the first Dickens book I read. I loved the way he built the characters and intertwined all of the relationships. It was a well-built novel and has led me into other Dickens books as well. The surprise ending was very heartfelt for me.
