Beautiful Ruins
by
Jess Walter
Nanny
, August 26, 2012
Jess Walter writes a novel which spans from the 1960's to the present day. Part love story, part spoof on the modern day film industry, Walter's characters are both flawed and lovable. Hilarious and moving, this is a great summer read!

Glass Room
by
Simon Mawer
Nanny
, September 28, 2011
This a story of an unusual house and those who inhabit it. Mawer's writing pulls the reader into a sensual and sophisticated world which begins just prior to the start of WW II. His characters are captivating and the tale is gripping. I found this book hard to put down.

Satori A Novel Based On Trevanians Shibumi
by
Don Winslow, Trevanian
Nanny
, April 03, 2011
A prequel to another author's book? A book first published in 1979? Really? Winslow has written a prequel to Trevanian's classic thriller Shibumi and it works! Winslow tells the story of the early days of trained assassin Nicholai Hel in a way that would make Trevanian proud.
