Our book club loved this one! McCullough is a great favorite. As a young man, I spent nine months in leMans and never understood why they had a statue there to the Wright Brothers. A friend of mine who grew up there was never told in school. Now we both know!

Within the Circle Parents & Children in an Arab Village

Within the Circle was the most endearing book I read during more than four years of studying the Middle East at Portland State University. I selected it for a book report in Middle East anthropology because my father grew up in a rural village is Syria's Wadi Nasara (Christian Valley).
