Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World!

I actually listened to the audiobook version of this. It was not narrated by Andrew Breitbart, but the man who did captured his voice very well. I am a big fan of Andrew's Big sites, and this book is about his journey to the man he is today.

A compelling account of her 2010 Senate race. That witch ad was unfortunate and she even admits that it was lame. Christine also makes some very good points regarding the issues conservatives care about most.

Action packed and very interesting - I love how Michael got back at his bullies and eventually made friends with them. Looking forward to the next installment.

This was a fascinating and brutal read. There is a twist that surprised me. This book also shows the aftermath of Annie's abduction and captivity.

Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far
by
Bristol Palin and Nancy French
Elaine Arias
, September 01, 2011
I listened to the audiobook version of this last month, and it was good, although the author, Bristol Palin, sounded a little raspy at times. I'm glad she had someone help her write it - unlike a fellow "daughter-of" I could mention (who is also a terrible writer). I know she doesn't have much of a life to write about since she's only 20 years old or so, but I found her take on the 2008 election and her own scandal interesting. I am now reading the eBook edition.
