Dancer
by
Colum McCann
bswan
, August 09, 2012
Dancer is a fictionalized account of the great Soviet dancer Vladimir Nabukov. McCann breathes life into a host of characters who knew Nabukov, both in Soviet Russia and then in the West after he defected. The story is at turns exhilarating and tragic, but never dull, thanks to McCann's beautiful prose. If you liked either of his more famous books, Zoli, or Let the Great World Spin, you will enjoy this earlier novel as well
