Hot Pursuit

, December 04, 2013
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 Book 2 in the Sugarland Blue series thoughts back into the world of Sugarland police force. Hot Pursuit we get to learn more about the Taylor and the demons that chase him. As a young cop Taylor was put into an unwinnable situation. But after leaving LA and trying to start over Taylor thought things might be getting better, even if his nights are still plagued with nightmares. Cara is a woman out for revenge. She wants the man responsible for her sister's murder to pay for his crime. Revenge is all she can think about for the last four year. Cara had made this man a monster in her mind. An unfeeling, uncaring, unthinking monster. When Cara finally finds her mark she realizes that the man she has hated for 4 years is anything but the monster she made it out to be. Theses two are a great couple. Things move really fast for them. But when it is right it is right. But with a threat from the past stalking them at each moment their time together maybe too short to really explore what they might have. Another good book for Jo Davis. I am loving the Sugarland series. I can’t wait to see what or who Jo is going to give us next. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Storm Warrior
by
Dani Harper

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 1/2 REVIEW: Morgan doesn’t understand why only she can see the dog, but he is there none the less. There is something unearthly about him and the way he always is around. But after coming home from her holiday the last thing she ever expected was for the same dog to save her life. Rhys made a choice and that choice is Morgan. Even in his Grim state he knows he is bound to Morgan and vows to protect her no matter what. Even by defying the very creatures that bound him. But in doing so Rhys has brought more trouble than expected to Morgan’s quiet little farm. Dani wrote a great story and Justine Eyre brought the characters to life for me. I have to say that love Justine as a narrator and have yet found a book she has read that I didn’t like. Okay back to Storm Warrior. I loved the world that Dani created in this book. Fae, Grims, humans. It was all very interesting and I am already looking forward to the next book in this series. Disclaimer: This review is my own opinion and not a paid review. NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 REVIEW: Dante has been forced to move to the little town of Fool’s Gold because his business partner has decided that this is where he needs to be. That doesn’t mean he is happy about it or about the dance studio that is clogging away above his head. But Dante is planning on putting a stop to the noise once and for all. That is until he sees who the dance teachers is. Evie is back in Fool’s Gold. Not because she wants to, but because her family dragged her back. But now that she is back she is going to make the best of her time. As long as she can steer clear of her mother & brothers. Steering clear of her brothers business partner is not going to be as easy. Dante & Evie are both dealing with so much pain from the past. Pain that is making them blind to everything that they could to each other. But can the christmas season bring these two together or will they be left hurting even more? Another good story from Susan Mallery. I really enjoy every trip that I take to Fool’s Gold and can’t wait to see what Susan has in store next for the people of Fool’s Gold. NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 1/2 REVIEW: This Time Next Year: A snowing road, a deer and a snow bank. Not the best way to spend your last Christmas in the US with your Gran. But being saved by a man on horseback was never in the plans. This was a good story. Although I was extremely upset with Brenna for leaving. A Rare Gift: This is my second time reading this story and I loved it just as much as I did the first time. Wyatt & Calliope are so cute together. I love the she pushes so much. If you are a fan of Jaci’s you will love this story. Also this is #2 in the Kent Brothers trilogy. It’s Not Christmas Without You: I enjoyed this story. Austin & Carrie are great. I loved that Austin didn’t give up on what he wants and he wants Carrie. But when he realizes that Carrie doesn’t need him like he needs her, he does what he never thought he would do. He walks away. This is book #1 in the Holloway Series Mistletoe and Margaritas: I think this was my favorite story of the four. It made my heartbreak, it made me cry and it made me so happy. Justin & Claire are so good together. I really would love for Shannon to write a follow up story on these two. I want to know how the future turns out for them. Archangels Legion Guild Hunter 06
by

Kelly Mueller
, November 13, 2013
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 5+ REVIEW: Sometime you get to the last chapter of a book and think "Should I keep reading/listening or do I want one more minute, hour, day, or week?". That is how I felt with Archangel's Legion. It was like saying goodbye to a good friend that you know you won’t see for a whole year. I am so in love with Nalini’s Guild Hunter’s series I hope that she never stops writing. I serious love everything about this book. Raphael & Elena are just beyond awesome together. Raphael’s 7 are just flat out amazing. I so can’t wait for Nalini to write Illium’s book, I so love Bluebell!!! I had the great honor to listen to this. I have listened to all of the Guild Hunter books on audio and total love Justine Eyre. I really enjoyed how many voices she is able to do with each being so distinct. You always know who is talking without her telling you. I am beyond excited to see what Nalini has in store for us next and very excited for Justine to tell me the story. If you are new to Nalini’s Guild Hunter series. You have to start with book 1 there is no wiggle room on this one. All the books are so interwoven that you would be lost with out the history of each book. If you love audio books I would highly suggest giving the Guild Hunter series a spin. Mating Instinct A Moon Shifter Novel
by
Katie Reus
Kelly Mueller
, April 17, 2013
Mating Instinct is Katie Reus' third book in the Moon Shifter series. In Mating Instinct we get to see how Kat is adjusting to the events that happened to her in Primal Possession (bk 2, I would suggest reading this series in order). They say change is good, but that doesn't mean it is easy and nothing has been easy for Kat over the last year. She has walked away from the love of her life, was kidnapped, tortured and almost killed, then to save her life she has been turned. But even after all of this Kat has still come out on top. Maybe a little scared but she refuses to be anything but strong and more determined. The one thing Kat never planned was Jayce walking back into her life, demanding and on a mission to prove to her that she belongs to him and only him. Forever. Jayce has tried in the past to protect Kat from his enemies, but he underestimated the humans of the world. Now Jayce had to live with the fact that he didn't protect Kat when she need him most and it almost cost her, her life. Jayce vows to never let that happen again. Even when Kat puts herself in the crosshairs of her enemy. I really did enjoy this book. There was two storylines happening at once so I was a little confused. Jayce seemed to be working on a case while trying to protecting Kat. But by the end of the book I understood what and where Katie was going with the dual storylines I love Jayce & Kat. While Jayce tries to be this big-bad ass enforcer he does have a soft side and we see that with Kat and a new member of the pack. Kat is very brave after everything she has gone through. Stubborn yes, but very brave. Jayce and Kat are a great team and I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two. I am super excited about the next book in this series. Death, Doom, and Detention

Being a teenager is hard enough. But factor in that you are possessed by an evil spirit, in love with the Angel of Death, and you are all that stands between the forces of good and evil. That would make anyone have a bad hair day. Lor and crew continue their mission to stop an impending war between good and evil. But along the way we learn a little more about Lorerlei and how she became what she is today. We also learn that even the Angel of Death has weakness. This was a really good book. I was honored to get a chance to read early. And I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series. Wild Invitation A Psy Changeling Collection
by

, April 17, 2013
3 out of 4 is not bad right? I really enjoyed 3 out of 4 of these novellas. One just didn’t grab me like I would have liked it too. It was still a good story. But not as much as the others. Nalini is a fabulous story teller and anyone who is a fan of her Psy-Changeling series will love all four of these novella’s. I have to be honest I have not read this series. I have read a few of the books but not in order at all. But even with that I really didn’t feel lost at all with this book. While each novella’s main characters may have been in other books I really didn’t feel lost until the last story. It seems like there was a lot of history and some very important things must have happened before this novella. But all in all I enjoyed this book. And yes I do plan on going back and reading the series. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review. Edge of Dawn A Midnight Breed Novel
by
Lara Adrian
Kelly Mueller
, April 17, 2013
It was great to be back in the world of the Midnight Breed. 20 years in the future from the last book (#10 Darker After Midnight) the world has changed and all the kids are grown up. I will admit it was a little strange to go from seeing Mira a little rambunctious girl in Darker too this strong warrior woman in Edge of Dawn. But once you get over the time lapse you will be totally fine. The world is not much better then when we left it at the end of Darker. The Breed has been out in the open and humans still fear them. Wars have raged. People both Breed and human have been lost. The Breed & human are trying to find a way to live peacefully. But not all is what it seems and soon a new enemy emerges that will threaten everything that the Breed has been trying to do for the last 20 years. Edge of Dawn brings most of the original Breed members back to this story to fight against this new enemy. And since I really don’t like to give spoilers..... Edge of Dawn is Mira & Kellan’s story And it is a great story of love, loss, betrayal and learning to trust again. I really, really, really, loved this story and loved the new elements that Lara brings to this new world of the Midnight Breed. I will tell you that I did need a tissue a time or two. I loved to see some of my favorite’s back (even if my favorite was only mentioned) and I have a few new favorites among the younger Breed members now too. I am very much looking forward to where Lara is going to take us with this new Breed of characters and what she has in store for us with this new enemy. Love Irresistibly
by
Julie James

, April 17, 2013
This was my first book in Julie James FBI/US Attorney series. Yes, I started with book 4. But Love Irresistibly easily stands on it’s own. There was mention of other characters that I assume where from books 1, 2 or 3. But I never felt lost. Cade & Brooke are a great couple. Both seem set on not really ever needing anyone in their life. Their jobs have always come first. But Cade & Brooke learn quickly that all work and no play is no way to live your life. I really liked Cade & Brooke. I really like the story, although at times I was a little bored. But even with that I did enjoy this story. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Trouble with Love A Cupcake Lovers Novel
by
Beth Ciotta
Kelly Mueller
, March 29, 2013
The second book in Beth Ciotta’s Cupcake Lover’s series was just as much fun as Fool for Love. We get to learn what the heck happened between Rocky & Jayce. Rocky Monroe has had a major problem with Jayce Bello for all of her life, it is a love/hate relationship. But when Rocky finds herself in the big city mugged and slightly hit by a car the first person she calls is Jayce. Jayce has never really understood what he did wrong all those years ago. All he knows is that Rocky still hates him, but Jayce is going to change that. With or without Rocky’s help. Rocky and Jayce have some major history which makes their interactions so much fun. I wanted to talk some sense into Rocky. But she is beyond stubborn and has to learn the hard way. And boy does she learn. If you have read Fool for Love then you will understand the tension between Rocky and Jayce. While you could read The Trouble with Love alone I think it would be best to read Fool in Love first. All or Nothing is book two in The Alpha Brotherhood series. In All or Nothing we get a closer look at the smart one of the group. Conrad, or as Jayne would call him The Sean Conary Bond. Yes you will have to read the book to understand. This was a quick good read. We learn a lot more about The Alpha Brotherhood’s history and get to meet a few new members too. Which means more books right? I really enjoyed reading about Conrad & Jayne’s history and present. Both are so stinking stubborn and like thing just so. But nothing is perfect in life of love and these two have to learn that the hard way. But will this second chance at love last? Guest you will have to read the book to find out :) Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review. Fool for Love A Cupcake Lovers Novel
by
Beth Ciotta
Kelly Mueller
, March 28, 2013
Who doesn’t love cupcakes??? Dumped. That is how Chloe’s celebration night went. But what is a girl to do with a new degree and a recently single status? Move to a new town, start over and find out that some time doing it on your own is not all it is cracked up to be. This was a fun book. Chloe is a hoot and her cohort Daisy is the feisty grandma everyone wished they had. But while Daisy and a few of her family members are happy to have Chloe helping take care of Daisy not everyone is as happy. Daisy’ overbearing, controlling and super hot grandson is a different story. He doesn’t like having a stranger in his grandma’s house, taking care of her, assisting in her crazy schemes. But there is just something about Chloe that drives Devlin crazy. Crazy in the I want to kiss you senseless way. These two are fun to read about. If you are looking for a good, fun and sweet read I would suggest picking up a copy of Fool for Love. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. I liked this story, like the character well enough to keep reading. But I had a few issues with this book. I didn’t like the mousey little Mia in the beginning of the book, but by the end I did kinda like her. She finally grow up enough to stand up for what she wants. Gabe while he might be dreamy, he was a bit of a......butt (to put it nice). Who the heck signs a contract to have a relationship? He is dominant, controlling and well a real pain in the butt. But in the end he learns, or will learn. I will admit that I was a little nervous. When reviews or people refer to books with a 50 Shade of whatever compariance I normally will stay far away from that books. I am glad that I read and do plan on reading the next two books in this series. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Die for Me: A Novel of the Valentine Killer
by
Cynthia Eden
Kelly Mueller
, March 12, 2013
This was a page turner for me. I started Die for Me thinking I would read a chapter or two. Nope!!! Finished the book in one sitting (stayed up till 1 am on a work night *GASP*). Cynthia does a fabulous job of painting a story that is suspenseful, romantic and on the edge of your seat good. I wanted to scream “don’t go in there”, “look behind you” and “oh for the love of pete why did you do that?” so many times. But none of that helped. Cynthia kept me guessing about the who’s, the whys and the what. And like any good reviewer I am not going to spoil it for you. But you do need to add Die for Me to your need to read list. And besides what could possible go wrong when a serial killer shows up in your town? Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Oh Man!!!! Book two in the Sultry Springs series is SO good. Trey, ahhhh the sweet Golden Boy finally meets his match in a feisty redhead from California. And to say their first meeting was… will eventful would be an understatement. I loved the beginning, middle and end of this book so much. I read it in one sitting. I kept saying to myself “just one more chapter and I will put down the book and go to sleep” Needless to say at 2 am I finally did read the last chapter, wiped the tears from my eyes and went to bed very happy. I love these character, love this series and love Macy!!! I so can’t wait to see what she has in store for our resident bad-boy sheriff, in book 3 Surrender to Sultry (Aug 1, 2013). Again if you have not jumped into Sultry Springs Texas you really need too. You will be surprised at what can be found behind the doors of a small hick town. This was a strange book for me. I am not sure if it was because I have not read book one or two in this series. Or maybe it was my mood. I am not 100% sure. But The Reunited didn’t draw me in like a normal Shiloh Walker book. I guess I just never really connected with the characters. Still this was an okay read and I will be putting it on my list of need to read the series from book one. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Jayne, this poor girl has been through hell and back already once in her life. But who would have ever thought going to a small town in Maine would become a matter of life or death for her. This time Jayne will not be a victim. This time she will be her own hero. Reed Kimball just wants to live a peaceful and quiet life. He has already seen and done more then most will in a lifetime. But when a beautiful stranger shows up outside his home, she off a series of events that even Reed could have never seen coming. I really like Melinda’s writing style. She does a great job of sucking you into her world. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time reading this book. As always I am trying to figure out the who done its. And boy howdy I would have never guessed who it was in the end. If you have read any of Melinda’s other books you will love Midnight Exposure. If you have not read any of her books yet. I would suggest picking up a copy and jump into the suspenseful world that Melinda has created.

HOT DOG!!!! This was a great way to start my new year. New Author. New Series. New Obsession!!! Sultry with a Twist takes us to Sultry Springs Texas and with a name like Sultry Springs how can we not get hot and bothered? Macy’s 1st book is a second chance at love story and boy howdy does this girl know how to write a story. From page one I was in love with June & Luke. I also loved that Macy took a body issue that many woman have and showed how men don’t see it as an issue but an extreme turn on. This was a fabulously great story and is going on my keeper shelf. If you have not had a chance to visit Sultry Springs Texas yet I would highly recommend you grab your cowboy boots and hang on tight, because this is a must read for the new year. Once Burned A Night Prince Novel
by
Jeaniene Frost
Kelly Mueller
, June 26, 2012
Vlad uses fear and torture to keep the ones around him loyal. So when he realizes he is being spied on he does what Vlad does best he threatens to kill that person. But what he never expected is that that spy is going to ask him for help, ask him to save her and in doing so will change both of their paths forever. Leila just wants to live in peace or what little peace she can find. But it is really hard to do that when you just got kidnapped by three very nasty and hungry looking vampires. Forced to use her power to try to get answers for them, Leila finds herself connecting to another vampire. And this vampire may be her only hope to make it out of this room alive. I wanted to give this 5 stars maybe even 4 1/2 but it was a 4 for me. I guess I have not been paying attention to the Frost world. I was totally shocked that Vlad's story is told by the heroine (just like all of Cat & Bones stories are from Cat's point of view) Lelia. I was hoping for more insight on the man we have all come to love. I enjoyed this story. I am very happy that Vlad finally gets his story told. We do learn more about the man behind the myth of Dracula. Although I would have loved to have seen many parts of this story through Vlad’s point of view. Vlad & Leila make a great team. Both are stubborn, determined and will do anything for the people close to them. I loved that Leila challenges Vlad every step of the way. I can’t wait to see where Jeaniene takes us next on Vlad & Leila’s journey. Sadly we have to wait until Spring of 2013 for the next Night Prince novel to come out. But I think it will be worth the wait.

Wicked Nights Angels of the Dark 01
by
Gena Showalter
Kelly Mueller
, June 26, 2012
Wicked Nights is Gena Showalter’s first book in her Angels of the Dark Series. Which is a spin off of the Lords of the Underworld series. If you have been living under a rock you really need to read the Lords series, they are very very good. We get glimpses of the Angels in the Lords of the Underworld series so I am very excited that they are getting their own series. Okay, back to focus on the Angels. In Wicked Nights we meet Zacharel who is the reluctant leader of a band of very bad angels. A group of angels on the verge of losing their wings and becoming Fallen Angels. Zacharel has never been one to follow the rules, he has always done his own thing no matter the consequences. But all that he is and everything he has ever been is about to be challenged and put to the ultimate test. A test that he can’t afford to lose. The last 4 years of Annabelle’s live has been nothing but pain and misery. After the murder of her parents, Annabelle is locked away for the crime. But Annabelle knows the truth about who killed her parents. She knows this because she saw the monster do it. But no one believes her. No one knows that each day more demons come for her. While Annabelle is use to demon’s coming after her she is unprepared for an Angel to show up in her room. Oh how I loved this books... Gena does an amazing job of keeping my interest from page one to the very last page. Nowhere in between was I ever board. I love the cast of characters in this book. All total bad boy, bad ass angels that I am very excited to learn more about. If you are a fan of the LoTU series, there are a few surprise visits that will make you chuckle. If you have not read the LoTU series never fear, you do not have to read before the Angels of the Dark series. Although I would highly recommend the Lords of the Underworld series.

I LOVED this book!!!!!!!! I have to say a special thank you to the wonderful lady who bought me this book. You know who you are and I love you dearly. Elisabeth, thank you for writing this book, I loved every minute of reading it. Elisabeth does a great job with this story. I was crying before the end of the first chapter. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The suspense was killing me, whether it was the tension between Ryan and Kate or the looming danger all around them. I didn't want to put this book down.

This was a great book. I loved that Amy got her own book. In the past two books Amy was the wallflower of the group. But in How to Ravish a Rake Amy knows that this may be her last season, so she tries to transform herself. Amy learns so much about herself in this book. It was great fun to watch her grow. Will is the bad boy of the ton. The one all the women swoon over. But when Will finds himself trapped with the beautiful red head he loves to tease, he doesn’t know the full extent of the consequent of his actions. I really enjoyed How to Ravish a Rake. Amy & Will are a great, fun, feisty couple to read about. While their wedding may not have come from love, they learn how to make the best of their situation. If you have enjoyed Vicky’s first two books you will love book 3 How to Ravish a Rake.

Lethal Rider Lords of Deliverance 03

Thanantos, aka Death, is not a very happy camper. He has been a prisoner for the last 8 months, thanks to the his loving big brother and sister. So it is no wonder when feeling starts to return to his body the first thing on Than’s mind is revenge. Revenge for the woman that betrayed him. Revenged towards his brother and sister, for imprisoning him. Revenge for Pestilence, for not being Reseph anymore. So Than comes up with a plan: step one get to the woman that betrayed him and make her pay. Step two..... Well Than is not ready for step two because this involves something he never planned on. Becoming a father. Regan knows that she must protect the baby by any means necessary, but she keeps having nightmares of Thanantos killing her, taking the baby and not being able to stop the Apocalypse. All because she betrayed him. Betrayed him in such a horrible way, that no amount of sorry can explain away the hurt. But there is one thing that Regan never counted on. Than’s protectiveness over her and the baby. What can you say about an author and a book that just totally blows you out of the water. I am totally convinced that Larissa can’t write a bad book. Lethal Rider gives us everything: love and lust, laughter and tears, betrayal, revenge, sacrifice, trust, redemption and forgiveness. We get to see many characters for Larissa’s other wickedly good Demonica series. And it is so nice to see the Horseman and the Demon kind working so well together. :) I am SO in love with this series and am on pins and needle for Rogue Rider, Reseph’s book and the last of the Lords of Deliverance series. But never fear!!!!!!!!!!!! Reaver’s will be getting a book..... SO can’t wait to see what Larissa has in store for the angel. How she is going to redeem Reseph and where she is going to take us next...

Kiss of the Goblin Prince

REVIEW: I do have to start by saying that I should have read Kiss of the Goblin King first, just so that I had a better understanding of the Shadowland world that Dai & Roan have lived in for so long. That being said. I really enjoyed this book. Dai is a man that may be freed of a long held curse, but he is not free. Dai has to learn to function in the Fixed Realm and deal with the magic that is calling to him. On top of all of that Dai finds that he is drawn to Amanda in a way he doesn’t totally understand. Amanda feels an instant connection to Dai when she sees him at the wedding of one of her dear friend. But Amanda is confused by her feelings. I has been a long 8 years since her husband passed away and Dai is the first man to stir those feelings in her again. I enjoyed reading the struggle that Dai & Amanda have to come to the realization that they can’t fight the attraction to each other. But first they have to learn to trust blindly. I liked the world that Shona created with the Shadowlands and the Fixed Realms. There are so many threads weaved together to make up these worlds. I never really thought of Goblins as appealing but Dai & Roan make the idea very appealing. I look forward to the next book in the Shadowland series For the Love a Goblin Warrior.

Rough Ride is book 1 in Keri Ford’s new series The Roughnecks and takes us back to the quiet little town of Apple Trail. The Roughneck series is a spin off of Keri’s Apple Trail series which I LOVED!!! If you haven’t read the Apple Trail series find more about it here http://keriford.com . Okay back to Lane... Lane is one tough cookie. He loves his brothers more than anything, but being so close to them is tough. Lane has been keep a secret from his brothers. A secret that may just tear his family apart once and for all. Lane wants to help his family, but the minute they are done he is going to cut and run. The one thing he didn’t factor in was Gretchen. Gretchen, may be the very best thing he will never deserve. Gretchen knows that Lane is only here temporarily. And she is not a temporary type of girl. She is a forever girl. But her forever was taken from her. With the encouragement of her best friends, Gretchen takes a leap of faith that maybe, just maybe she can have just a fling with Lane. But what will she do when it is time for him to leave? I loved this book. Lane is tough, complicated, full of guilt, and a stubborn pain in the ass. But in the end he has to learn that sometimes you have to fall before you can get up and live. Gretchen is very strong, even when the chips are down she is a trooper. But she never will let a man walk all over her. Lane & Gretchen are a great couple to read about. I look forward to seeing them in the next couple of books in the Roughneck series. Thank you Keri, for the opportunity to read your new book

Blood Seduction A Vamp City Novel
by
Pamela Palmer

hhhmmm, where to start with this review. I have very mixed feelings about this book. I didn’t love this book, I didn’t hate this book, I am not sure if I like or not. I really really really wanted to like this book. I like the idea behind this book. But didn’t really connect with the characters. I really wanted to like Arturo (our hero? I am not sure I would call him that), but is he is a rat, a snake, a really dirt bag, I could go ON and ON about his dirt bagness, but I won’t. I kept hoping through the whole book he would change, but no he was a dirt bag right up to the end. Quinn, oh what can I say about Quinn our heroine in this book. Her loyalty to her brother is great. She can take a punch like no one’s business, but damn that girl for trusting such a self serving vampire. There were moments in this book that made me like these two, but for the most part I struggled with them. I am hoping that as this series goes on the books get better. A Blood Seduction was a little rough for me. And let me tell you there truly is no such thing as a good vampire in Vamp City. So if you are looking for a happily ever after story this is not for you. If you are looking for a vampire story were ALL the vamp’s are bad then you need to get a copy of A Blood Seduction.

OMG!!! I loved this story!!! I am so in love with Alexander Napoleon Outland aka Nap, or as he likes to call himself ‘The Outland’. Nap is to die for funny, witty, sexy and an all around good guy. There is no other captain I would want driving my pirate ship. Alexander Outland: Space Pirate takes us on a wild journey. Nap is the leader of a pirate ship, well pirate spaceship that is, that finds themself in the middle of a plot to take over the universe. And for some reason everyone is aiming for them. Just when they think they know what and who their enemy is after they learn that they are wrong. It will take every trick in Nap’s book and a little luck for Nap to keep his crew safe, save the universe and hope to win the hand of his lady love. Along the way Nap finds himself new crew members, new allies, a few new enemies and in more then one very stinky situation . Huge thank you to GJ Koch, for letting me read Nap’s book. I am totally in love with him. I am really excited to see what is next for Nap and the Sixty-Nine team. If you are a fan of sci-fi you really need to order a copy of Alexander Outland: Space Pirate. If you are new to sci-fi you should check out Nap’s book. It is a fun, witty, twisty and turny read.

Danger That Is Damion

Lara is a woman on a mission, a mission to kill those who have hurt her and her family. But when Lara gets the chance she can’t pull the trigger. Something about this mission doesn’t feel right. Now Lara has drawn the attention of one of the Renegades. Not just any Renegade, Damion Browne. What Lara learns from Damion, will make her questions everything she thinks, knows and feels. Lara now has to trust the people she has long hated. But how can she trust them when she can’t trust herself. Damion never breaks the rules. NEVER!!! He is a by-the-book kind of guy, but the minute he sees Lara the rule book gets thrown out the window. Damion doesn’t know why yet but he is drawn to Lara, and is willing to do anything, sacrifice anything, and most of all break any rules to keep her safe and with him. I loved Damion & Lara together. They are both so stubborn and hard headed but perfect for each other. Both think that they can handle anything on their own, but soon learn they are much better as a team. I so love this series. I can’t wait to see where Lisa takes us next.

Dire Needs Eternal Wolf Clan 01
by
Stephanie Tyler

, April 13, 2012
I really enjoyed this story. As with most first books in a series there is a lot of world building and introductions of characters. And boy are there characters in this book. I am already looking forward to Jinx, Vice, Rogue, Stray & Liam’s books. Oh and don’t forget the twins.... But I am getting to far ahead of myself, back to the review. Dire Needs is Rifter and Gwen’s story. Rifter is the reluctant leader of the last remaining Dires (an immortal werewolf). The last thing Rifter ever expected to find was Gwen. Trouble, Yes!! Danger, Yes!! But Gwen, Never. Now he can’t do anything but think about her. When Gwen is put in danger Rifter does what any wolf would do to protect his mate. He fights to the death for her. But how can this human be his mate? He and his brothers are cursed to never find mates. This has to be some cruel joke, but will Rifter fight for what he wants or fight against fate? Gwen doesn’t have much time left. She is a walking time bomb and one of these days she will die. So Gwen decides it is time to live her life and do the one thing that she has never done before, fight a man. Gwen lives for now, not the past that tries to haunt her, not the future she will never have, but now, because that is all she has left. When Gwen sees Rifter for the very first time, she know he is just what she has been looking for. What Gwen doesn’t know is how the beautiful stranger will completely change her life in a very, very short time. So back to what I was saying about the characters. The cast of characters in this book are great. Each has such strong personalities. Vice, is cocky (wink, wink) to a fault, Jinx is so caring, Rogue is lost, Stray is quite, Liam is angry, and the twins, well the twins are just naughty. I loved Rifter. He is strong, stubborn, loyal and willing to protect everyone even if it means to sacrifice himself. Everything a born leader should be. Now that he has found his Queen he is finally ready to step into the role of leader. I look forward to seeing where Stephanie takes us next in this series. Thank you Stephanie for the opportunity to review your book.

Barefoot Season a Blackberry Island Novel
by
Susan Mallery
Kelly Mueller
, March 31, 2012
For those of you that are fans of Susan Mallery’s and have become obsessed with her Fool’s Gold series (like myself) the first thing you realize is this is not the “Land of Happy Endings”. But Blackberry Island will have you wanting to visit all the same. Michelle left her home 10 years ago after her life fell apart and she lost everyone she cared about including and probably most importantly her best friend Carly. Now Michelle returns from serving her country batter and bruised in more ways then one. She was shot in the hip and what she wants is a little bit of R&R (rest and recovery) at home on Blackberry Island. She needs a place to heal both physically and emotionally. However as the saying goes “you can never go home again”. When she returns to the Inn that was given to her by her father and was in trust until her mother died a few months ago she finds that everything has been changed and none of it for the good. And the worst part is that Carly has had a hand in all of it. Carly has been running the inn under the assumption that she would grow into becoming a partner but when Michelle’s mother passes she learns the 10 years she has spent working her tail off was for nothing. Her biggest fear is losing her job and being homeless with her 9 year old daughter. She would do anything for her daughter. Even work beside Michelle, the woman who betrayed her so many years ago. This book is not about romance but about relationships. The relationship between friends, parents and men and how having them and losing them define who we are. Usually when reading a romance you read both the man and woman point of view but this is about Michelle and Carly. This is their story and while romance is on the horizon it is not the focus of this novel. It is about lifelong friendships and how the decisions we make effect us for the rest of our lives. The book is also a look into the healing of a returning soldier but this time that soldier is a female which is different then so many novels out now. This is an incredible book told about women by a woman and meant to be read by every woman. We have all had that friendship we thought would last a lifetime. But for Carly and Michelle it didn’t.. or did it? Do not miss this book and while you are picking up this book pick up Mallery’s Fool’s Gold series... You will not be disappointed!

I want so badly to tell you about this book and why you should read it but there are not enough words to tell you how wonderful this book is. It is rare I give a book 5 stars but this book is most deserving. There is something magical about this book. It feels like a romance novel from years gone by even though it is set in the present. It makes you believe you are there and watching the love unfold instead of turning pages. Seascape Inn is a place you want to visit This book reads like a movie. Have you seen the movies "Somewhere In Time" or "The Two Worlds of Jenny Logan"? OK this is dating myself but then if you have not seen them you should. Anyway, this book has the feel of these timeless movies. The softness of love as it grows between the characters and the mystical spirit that is there to guide not haunt make this book worth the read. More than worth the read it is worth owning the book and never letting it go. Luckily this is the 1st in a trilogy and I cannot wait to enjoy the other two books.
