This book was fun because it was set around Christmas time. Their focus was involving the kids in the White House. This included the kids getting to send in gingerbread men cookies to go with the display. But what will some of the entries mean? Being that the gingerbread house was made by the baker, we learned a lot more about his character. I really liked him and thought he was fun. Up to this point, we have learned that Ollie has great neighbors, but in his book you really get to know them. It is a tight knit little community in this apartment building. Her neighbors are very genuine and will help her out any time. I kept getting irritated with the helpers to the electrician who was killed. Did they not feel Ollie’s urgency? Have you ever screamed at the characters in a book you’ve been reading? Verdict: 4 stars. I really liked this book. Another great book in this series.

What a story the author has woven. I was amazed at all the twists and the turns that have come and gone in this book. When you think you know what way it’s going, there’s another curve thrown at you. This is the second book of Diane Chamberlain I've read. Again, not a disappointment. This book is told via each different main character's point of view and done very well. The book focuses on the social problem of fetal alcohol syndrome disorder (FASD) and was informative enough without being a non-fiction feel book. The characters are all very strong and poignant in the plot.
