Never one to enjoy a non-fiction war story, I wasn't looking especially forward to reading this book for my book club. Within the first 2 pages I couldn't wait to read more about Louis. Such an amazing man with an amazing story. I'm so thankful to Laura Hillenbrand for writing this. This is not a war story - this is a survival story.

Books about dogs will almost always make you cry...books 'told' by a dog will have you bawling - but I couldn't put it down. Wonderful, wonderful book.

The letters make you feel so close to Juliet and all the people of Guernsey - I couldn't help but care for each of them. I wanted and needed to know they were going to be okay so I couldn't stop reading. A wonderful book and a wonderful way of writing it.
