Year On Ladybug Farm

As a new owner of a farmhouse built in 1905, I could not have read this book at a more perfect time. We are experiencing some of the same struggles and joys as these dynamic heroines. The novel was extremely realistic and well researched. So much so that we were able to learn from their mistakes and stumble upon some brilliant new ideas for our own new home. The Shenandoah Valley is accurately depicted as the beautiful, charming area that it is. My own new little farmette is not all that far from Cici, Lindsay, and Bridget's fictional home, making it even more of an emotional read. I was swept up into their story; laughing with them, feeling their frustrations, and sharing in their accomplishments. Donna Ball has spun a wonderful story with strong female characters that I will most likely pick up many times throughout my own journey in my home.

Amazing and captivating with real life issues that still face circus animals today.
