Painted Drum
by
Louise Erdrich

, December 28, 2013
This is my first Louise Erdrich read ... Definitely not my last! Soulful accounting of contemporary (& past) relationships - with Original People, their distant relatives, the earth, family and communities . . . sacred objects and practices. It is a story of searching, of love, of family and neighbors ... How they come together through a sacred drum. It delivers historical and current insight into our every-day-ness, loss, and personal journeys. Must read!

It has tons of nature writers from several tropes of American eco-critical literature. It is an all in one sampling with beautiful photographs and a chronology included. An amazing book to add to your library.
