Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I genuinely do not understand why this sequel was written. The first book never took off at all in terms of the storyline or the characters and we find ourselves revisiting the scenes previously outlined, only they are even LESS involving. The fact that the author has written 3 books so far to a pretty poor standard in a genre which is already overly saturated does well to demonstrate the lack of imagination at this authors disposal.

I had the trilogy of this author bought as a gift. All I can say is I was left unimpressed with the lack of depth of the storyline and characters who it was near impossible to become emotionally attached to. Honestly, for a better read, anything by Suzanne Collins is a step in the right direction.

I had the trilogy of books bought for me as a gift and read them over the space of a vacation. Overall, I can only say I was left unimpressed with the both lack of depth of the storyline and the imagination which has gone into writing this book. Generally speaking, there are hundreds if not thousands of other books out there under the same genre worth the attention and are far better written.
