I received this book for free via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and I was really excited to read the next one, so when the publisher approved my request for an ARC, I was thrilled. This was so much better than the first book. There was a lot going on, and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I was trying to piece everything together, but I was not expecting what happen at all. The book starts off where the last one ended; with Emmet and the rest of the Genesis crew landing on the alien planet. I really enjoyed getting to know all of the characters a little more in this book. I really felt like this provided more depth into each of the characters' personalities. This was very well written. I honestly could not stop thinking about it and did not want to put it down. I would tell myself that I was only going to finish the chapter, but ended up reading five more. I am a little disappointed that I will have to wait for the third book to come out because this one left on a cliff hanger, but I am very excited for it. I would definitely recommend this book/series if you enjoy books set in space. It is a really good series, and this was an amazing book.

Forever My Girl

I watched the trailer for the Forever My Girl movie, and I just knew that I wanted to read the book. The plot seemed interesting, and one of my favorite authors suggested to read it. Even though I had never heard of this author before, I decided to purchase the book and give it a try. I was not disappointed! Liam is living the life. He has a different girl every night and is a famous rock star. However, it isn't all that he thought it would be. Ten years ago, he left the love of his life to pursue this dream, leaving behind everyone he knew. Josie, who was heartbroken when Liam left, is just now moving on with her life. She is finally getting married to her boyfriend and expanding her florist shop. All of the sudden, Liam's high school best friend and Josie's best friend's husband died in a tragic car accident. This tragedy brings Josie and Liam unexpectedly back together. I found this book to be enjoyable and easy to read. I did not want to put this book down because I wanted to know what happened next. Overall, it was very well written, and the plot was intriguing. The characters were very likable. Although Liam left Josie, I felt like I understood his character. The chapters switched point of views from Josie to Liam, which gave insight into both of their thoughts and actions. I gained a better understanding of them, which resulted in me liking Josie and Liam more. The writing style reminded me of Hollywood Dirt. If you enjoyed that book, then you might enjoy Forever My Girl. I would highly recommend this book if you are looking for an easy to read, contemporary romance novel. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

In love with her best friend plus a life altering event...um...YES!! I absolutely loved this book. From the first page, I did not want to put it down. This has a really great lesson in it, and I loved every single aspect of the book. If you have not read this book yet, you need to go start reading it now!

I received this book for free via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I'm not really sure how to put my feelings about this book into words. This was honestly one of the best books I have read in awhile. I absolutely loved this book, and I could not put it down. I loved Ruby, Anne, Gabe, Elliott, and Charlie. I loved going on this adventure with them. Each character had unique personalities, and while they might have been considered "flawed" to others, they found friendship in each other. I was captured into this book. The writing was amazing, and I did not expect what happened. I actually reread a chapter because I wasn't sure if I was reading it correctly, and I never reread chapters. This book was amazing, and I highly recommend it.

I received this book for free via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, I did not know what I was getting into with this book when I first opened it. I really just loved the cover. This book was a rollercoaster. There were a lot of ups and downs that I experiences with Emmett. Emmett comes from a family who doesn't have a lot of money, so when Babel offers him the chance to go to space and earn a lot of money for his family, he takes it. However, he doesn't know what he is getting into. Babel has a lot of secrets and a lot of surprises, and I feel like all of them are completed unexpected. I gave this four stars instead of five because I felt like it took a long time to read. It almost felt like a 700 page book, not a 380 page book. While I loved every minute of it, I just kept thinking "Wow! This is taking forever! When am I going to get to the end?" I am not sure why I felt this way, but I just thought I would never get through it. That being said, I really enjoyed the writing style. I thought the book was very well written and had a lot of surprises. I ended up just giving up on trying to figure out what would come next because I honestly just didn't know. It was interesting to see how the characters progressed throughout the book. I can't wait for book two so I can find out what happens next!

I received this book for free via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I love Robin Hood retellings, so when I started this book, I was really excited. I loved Ellie, James, Much, Will, and Little John. The characters were wonderful, and I loved how Ellie was just a girl trying to win an Olympic medal, but ends up time traveling to the past. There, she meets her new friends and starts an adventure of her own, with two goals: Don't get killed. Don't change history. Overall, I thought the book was very well written. The only part I didn't like was the ending. It seemed a little abrupt and confusing. Other than that, I really enjoyed this story.

I had a hard time deciding between 3 and 4 stars, but I went with 4 because it was a good book overall. While it had some issues, the story was very good, and the writing was good. I finally felt like the story had a purpose unlike the others, however, that almost made it worse. I do not like when I have ten pages left in the book, and I still don't know how it is going to end when it is the last in the series. If you enjoyed the others in the book, definitely read this one.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review via NetGalley. Lada and Radu aren’t your typical brother and sister. Lada is very brutal, and doesn’t mind getting dirty for what she wants. On the other hand, Radu is a crybaby. Both want attention and love from their father, the leader of Wallachia. When they were young, the Ottoman empire took them as leverage, and raised them in their courts. Soon, Lada and Radu meet and befriend Mehmed, the sultan’s son. As they grow older, their friendship turns into love and longing, where they will do anything to protect one another. I will admit that the first 5 to 10 chapters were very boring. However, once I was captured into Lada and Radu’s storylines, I didn’t want to put the book down.I thought the author’s writing was pretty good, and will definitely check out her other books. The overall plot was good. I think having the book follow both Lada and Radu was a great choice because the reader is able to know what both are thinking, feeling, and doing. Since each chapter switched between the two characters storylines, it left me wanting to know what happens in each one. Lada’s character was very powerful. She was in a time where women were told what to do and men basically owned them, however, Lada never let that get in her way, and I find that to be admirable. While she did have to make sacrifices, she was still strong and stood behind her choices. Overall, I can’t wait to see what happens next with Lada and Radu.

I really love reading books in verse, and this was no exception. The writing was great, however, I had a couple issues about the plot. First, I expected the snowstorm to be the main focus of the book, however, it was more towards the end of the novel. Second, the boyfriend was too perfect for the main character. I don't think anyone is actually that perfect in real life. Finally, the issue with the best friend almost seemed too easily resolved. Overall, I enjoyed the book because the writing was really good, but I did not like the plot all that much.

I really enjoyed this book. It took a little to get used to reading British accents, however, once I did, I didn't want to put the book down. I thought the plot was very interesting, and enjoyed the way I never knew what was going to happen next. The Quevvil's were an interesting character, and I liked how they tried to get humans to destroy their enemy by playing video games. I would recommend this book if you like Doctor Who.

4.5 stars I loved Obsidian, so of course I really loved this book. I read Obsidian about 1 year and a half ago, so it was long enough to forget most of the things that had happened in the book. I am glad that I did not read it recently because it seemed pretty similar to the other book, with just a few extra scenes. Overall, the writing was excellent, the characters were wonderful. My only complaint is the abrupt ending. I would recommend this book if you liked the other Lux novels.

As soon as I started reading this book, I knew I wouldn't like it. I did not like the characters, especially Cassie, the transition between the past and present, or the story line. I think this could have been so much better if the characters were less annoying, and it wasn't so ridiculous. The only reason I did not give this one star was because it was so ridiculous that it made me laugh.

I loved Wait for You, but I really disliked Cam in this book. I wish I would not have read this book from his point of view. It was basically like Wait for You, but just from Cam's point of view. There wasn't really any extra scenes from his view, and I really disliked his character. The writing was fine, however, the way Cam was portrayed makes me wonder how I loved Wait for You in the first place.

I bought this book for the cover, and I don't regret that decision. I have never read a book about reincarnation before, but I found the topic very interesting to read about. I thought the characters were very well developed, and the writing was great. The only reason I did not give this book five stars is that the plot was a little confusing. I think too many things were trying to go on at the same time. The writing also seemed geared toward younger teens, however, I found the book very enjoyable. I normally do not read books as quickly as I did this one, however, the story kept my interest. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

A Daring Sacrifice

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review via netgalley.* First, I just want to say how much I love the cover of this book, which is the reason I wanted to read it in the first place. That being said, I did not know that this was the second book in the series when I started to read it, so I have not read The Vow or An Uncertain Choice. I will be reading both of those books now. I don't feel that I needed to read those before this book though because it was from a different character's point of view. Juliana, who is noble blooded, but now a thief living in the forest, and steals from her Uncle and other noblemen to provide for the poor. She decides to steal from Collin Goodrich, someone she knew as a child, however, he soon discovers who she really is. Collin is unlike any other noblemen she knows. He is kind, caring, and compassionate. Juliana is reckless and stubborn, but very caring about those in need. I thought both characters were great, and it was really easy to like them. Overall, I thought the writing was very well done. I was surprised at how well the author captured my attention in the story and kept it. Even at times when there wasn't a lot of action, the writing and storyline kept me reading. I really had a hard time putting this book down. I would definitely recommend this book/series if you like Historical Fiction, Robin Hood, His Fair Assassin's series by Robin LaFevers, or the Order of Darkness series by Philippa Gregory.

November Nine
by
Colleen Hoover
Ashlynn

This was a fantastic book! I loved every minute of it! The writing was amazing. The story and plot were perfect. Fallon tried to stay invisible because she didn't want people to look at her scars. She wore long sleeve shirts and had her hair cover most of her face. She knew she wanted to change and find herself, but she didn't know how. Ben had some scars of his own, only his were inside of him. He went to college to become a writer. He knew Fallon was beautiful, so he pushed her to come out of her shell and help find herself. Both characters had a great sense of humor, which really made the book fun to read. I thought it was cute how Ben and Fallon only met up on November 9th of each year. Basically, that was the only day we were given in the story. It was sectioned into November 9th of each year. This made the story interesting because the reader didn't see what happened throughout the year to the characters. We found out what happened as the characters found out what happened to each other. This seemed like a very creative concept. The point of view switched between Ben and Fallon, so it was nice to see into each of their heads to know what was happening, and why they made the decisions they did. The writing was fantastic, like all Colleen Hoover books. I would highly recommend this book.

Jewel

The Jewel takes place in a world run by corrupt royalty. The royals can not have babies, however, certain girls from the Marsh, the poorest part of the island, can have the royal's babies. If a girl is tested to be able to have their babies, they are taken away from their families and trained in Augury's. Once they have mastered all three Augury's, they are taken to the Jewel and auctioned to become a royal's surrogate. The Jewel follows Violet Lasting and her story as a surrogate when she is in a holding facility and her time in the Jewel. I got this book because it has a beautiful cover, but it was a perfect story. I found this story to be very well written. The author captured my attention with this creative, but interesting world. The story building was very thought out and the characters were well developed. I did think that Violet and Ash's relationship happened fairly quickly, however, it was still a very good book. I would highly recommend this to females over the age of 16 who like young adult books.

Between Shades of Gray

Ashlynn
, October 21, 2015
The story is told from Lina's point of view. Her family is taken from their home by the Soviet secret police, and thrown into cattle cars. Basically, the story shows the struggles people from countries like Lithuania had to deal with during the 1940's. I was in love with this book from page one. I thought this was beautifully written, and is one of my favorite books now. I really loved all of the characters, and it was great to see how they changed throughout the book. It was interesting to see parts of the past scattered throughout the story, giving parts of Lina's past only a little at a time. I thought this really enhanced the story because you could see what type of life she came from and compare it to what she was dealing with. There is a lot of death and some violence in this book, so if you do not like reading about that, I would not suggest this book for you. However, if you enjoyed The Book Thief or historical fiction, I would definitely recommend this book.

Coincidence of Callie & Kayden
by
Jessica Sorensen
Ashlynn
, October 20, 2015
The story follows Callie, when she stumbles upon her elementary school crush, Kayden, getting beat up by his father, and steps in. Kayden is grateful that she basically saved his life, and when he finds out that they are attending the same college, he tries to thank her, but starts to develop feeling for her. I started to read a couple pages at the store I bought it from, and I didn't want to put it down. It was very captivating. I loved the characters, the plot, and the writing. Actually, there wasn't anything that I didn't like about this book. Callie was a great character. It was interesting to see how she developed throughout the entire book. I liked that she was trying to break out of her shell and not trying to stay invisible anymore. I think the list Seth and Callie created really helped her. Kayden was also a great character. He didn't want to get close to Callie because she made him feel, however, he couldn't resist spending time with her. I thought it was great that Seth was Callie's friend and they could share their secrets, and then push each other to move on from the past. This was a very well written book. In fact, I have already order the next one, and I look forward to reading other books by Jessica Sorensen. I would recommend this book if you enjoy reading the Games series by Nyrae Dawn or Wait for You by J. Lynn.

4.5 stars Instead of staying up all night to study a for a Finance test I had, I stayed up to finish this book, which I hardly ever do unless I really enjoy the book. I really enjoyed the plot of this story. I thought it was interesting that it was set during World War I, and the British government would recruite a teenager to be a spy, who is sent into the enemy's territory. At first, I didn't really like how nothing seemed to add up, however, that was the point of the story, so in the end it all came together. I liked Samantha's character. She was torn between leaving her mother and serving her country, a decision that a lot of people have to face. It was hard to know who to trust and who not to trust, however, I'm glad how the story ended. There was a lot of unexpected events that happened, which made me want to continue reading the book. Overall, I thought the writing style was good, and the way it was written really made me want to find out what happened next in the book. I think it would be interesting to make this into a series, or even told by another character's point of view. I would definitely recommend this book if you enjoy reading young adult books about spies, or for younger teens.
