I'd been really looking forward to this book and Eliana & Demetrius' story! It did not disappoint! This couple go through a lot in this book. I found myself alternately shouting at Eliana to trust Demetrius and sympathising with her cause she's been basically brainwashed into believing Demetrius wants to kill her and the rest of her group by someone she's known and trusted her whole life. She doesn't know what to believe anymore. I loved a lot of the secondary characters, especially Mel, Eliana's best friend. I loved Mel's sense of humour and how she believed in both Eliana and Demetrius. I really enjoyed the couple's journey and the new developments in the series. I laughed at times and at other times I will admit to getting a little teary eyed. I'm hoping that they'll still be a part of the next book and that perhaps Mel will have a big part to play as I really liked her character! A great book and series! I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed this book and could have read it a lot faster if I hadn't just started a new job at the same time I received it! This was Morgan's book with her love interest being the Ikati Assassin Xander. It was great getting into her head and seeing how much she genuinely regretted what she did and maybe even craved home a little after trying to escape it for so long. There were also a couple of pretty big twists regarding the Expurgari that I won't reveal but that did take me by surprise at the end! Xander was easy to like as well, he really had a rough childhood, much rougher then Morgan but he was a good person despite his own poor opinion of himself. I loved these two together as in a lot of ways they can understand each other better then just about anyone else. I loved meeting the new colony as well and seeing how different they were from the colonies we know. I can see a future story involving Eliana and Demetrius being developed with how the book ended. I'd love to see those two end up together and I think that her fathers research may be important to the Ikati race and be life-changing for them so I'd like to see how it plays out and whether their colony will now make contact with the other colonies, reach out to them and form an alliance of sorts. I'd quite like that, they could come out of the tunnels and live above ground like the other colonies. I also want to see when Jenna (from the first book) is gonna start changing laws to improve the existence of female Ikati and to allow greater freedom in the tribe. I do hope that Morgan returns to the tribe eventually. I think she will miss them and that once she's travelled she may yearn to return home. Espeacially after what she learned. Can't wait for the next book! I was so exited when I learned that the author had been contracted for another four books in this series!

I was lucky enough to win a signed copy curtesy of the author and Fictional Candy! I loved this, love the characters of Leander and Jenna! I did think Jenna was a little hard on Leander at times and maybe a little too stubborn and prideful but at the same time I admired her strength. They seemed to get their wires crossed and misunderstand each other alot but that was mostly Jenna's fault cause she lied to him a lot trying to cover up what she felt for him and resist him. Although he could have been clearer about how he felt as well but he was trying not to push anything and make sure everything that happens between them is her decision. I felt bad for Christian and Morgan too a little. I mean Christian trying for Jenna when he knew his brother was in love with her was unfair but he is kinda a sweet guy so I hope he gets his own story where he finds his own mate. Morgan annoyed me a bit as much as she made me feel bad for her. I liked her spirit and her sarcasm but again I thought she was unfair to Leander. I agreed with her that it was unfair how women were treated in their society but it wasn't Leander's fault and he couldn't change the law but he did do something that obviously none of the other Alphas would do or have done. He voted her on the assembly, the deciding vote and he did say he thought her worth ten of each of the men who voted against her. Maybe though he should have mentioned that once or twice and she wouldn't have made the mistake she did. Leander wasn't the chauvinist she assumed and accused him of being. If he was he wouldn't have pointed out to Jenna that she had the power to do what he couldn't, change Ikati law and bring it into the 21rst century, making it less oppressive. I'm glad the next book will be hers so we can see how she grows and if she gets past her hatred of men and her race. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
