Not That Kind of Girl A Young Woman Tells You What Shes Learned
by
Lena Dunham
Anna Chapman
, October 21, 2014
Not that Kind of Girl is an exceptional piece of literature. Diving into Dunham's quirky mind is like allowing every thought you ever had to be fully excepted and honored. In this book you will laugh, sigh, nervously laugh again, and then cry. She is brave, honest and full of experience. Its not everyday that a public figure of our generation exposes the truth and pain that we all experience in our lifetime with such a quippy whit. I couldn't put the book down once I started, its so relatable... its almost un-relatable. Although the book is made up of essays they flow brilliantly, saving the best for last, you wont want to miss this magical collection of soulful experience. “When I was nine, I wrote a vow of celibacy on a piece of paper and ate it.” - Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "Learned" by Lena Dunham

Women Food & God
by
Geneen Roth
Anna Chapman
, October 21, 2014
Women Food and God is one of the most profound books I have ever read, and a truly helpful tool for anyone struggling with their relationship with food. Geneen dives into compulsion and scarcity with regards to food, but really life in general. Offering stories and antidotes that bring the reader along to understand how and why our own personal food stories and beliefs have created the relationship with our bodies and the food we eat everyday. Don't let the word "God' in the title deter you, this book is about healing past wounds so that we can live more fully in our present experience. I could not speak more highly of Women Food and God, I invite you to read the book and see for yourself. “Freedom from obsession is not about something you do; it's about knowing who you are. It's about recognizing what sustains you and what exhausts you. What you love and what you think you love because you believe you can't have it. ” ― Geneen Roth, Women, Food and God: An Unexpected Path to Almost Everything
