Brown Dog Novellas
by
Jim Harrison

Six novellas about Brown Dog, the quintessential Yooper. For someone seemingly content to drift through life without a plan, he lives an eventful life. At turns funny, tragic, bawdy and sad, Harrison writes about him with enormous affection the reader can't help but share.

Hild

Absolutely stellar performance from Nicola Griffith here. I was not only spellbound by this portrait of the woman who would become Saint Hilda of Whitby, I was also transported by the lush descriptions of Anglo-Saxon England, its landscape and its politics. This is one of those books crying out to be filmed, and also one of those books you wish would never end.

City of Lost Dreams
by

The dwarf, the acid dropping time traveller, and the reluctant aristocrat come to a cosmic crossroads with an insane poet and an equally off kilter historian. Chaos ensues. Fun and fun.
