Life Flight
by
Lynette Eason

First, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Lynette Eason and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Life Flight" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me. “Life Flight” by Lynette Eason in the first book in her brand new Extreme Measures series. Penny Carlton is an emergency helicopter pilot who takes risks every day in her work, transporting patients for medical treatment in sometimes challenging conditions. FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield is chasing a serial killer…and Penny finds herself right in the middle of the manhunt. This is an action-packed, adventurous, romantic suspense read that will keep you reading well into the wee hours. Eason knows how to build a plot that is engaging. And she sprinkles thoughtful life lessons throughout her books. This one is no exception. This book is an exceptional suspense story that grabs the reader from the first page and holds them captive until the final page is turned.

Person of Interest: Why Jesus Still Matters in a World That Rejects the Bible
by
J. Warner Wallace
StaceyLV
, August 31, 2021
“Person of Interest” is a feast for the mind and the soul! J. Warner Wallace has penned a doozy of a book and created first-rate artwork! I really enjoy books that start off at a run, and I clicked with this book right away. Wallace parallels “a past case” with his own investigation of the truth about Jesus Christ. The author skillfully bounces back and forth between these two cases as he moves forward in presenting the evidence gathered in each investigation. As the book progressed, I became grateful that, in this time of “cancel culture,” the Savior of the world can never be canceled because of His influence on so many different aspects of culture! Even if every Christian Bible were destroyed, we would be able to re-create the life of Jesus, His miracles, His death and His resurrection through His influence. “Person of Interest” has grown my faith and equipped me to support my beliefs using resources other than Scripture! But wait, there’s more! The Case Notes are meaty and point the reader to the author’s sources so you can verify what he’s written! Don’t take his word for it. Look it up for yourself!

Fire and Ice
by
Mary Connealy

First, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Mary Connealy and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Fire and Ice" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me. “Fire and Ice” by Mary Connealy didn’t grab me from the start like her novels usually do. But once I got through the stage setting of the novel, it took off like a runaway train! Connealy’s signature humor made this book an absolute joy, just like every other book of hers that I’ve read! She is one of those authors whose books I will purchase " and recommend to others " without even knowing what it’s about! This is the third installment in the Wilde Sisters Saga, but it reads perfectly well as a stand-alone story. Bailey is the eldest of the three Wilde sisters who were treated like boys by their pa, who failed to see the value of a female child and misses his deceased son. All three girls served in the military during the civil war, but Bailey saw the ugliest part of it and still bears the scars. She is deeply in touch with her tougher, more masculine side, so it comes as a big surprise to her neighbor, Gage Coulter, that she is in fact, a woman. This story is slathered in mystery as it becomes evident that Gage is the target of a killer. It is also thick with humor and romance as an impromptu proposal turns into a hysterical living situation when Gage’s mother comes to visit. The Lord is a big part of how these characters live, so God is mentioned often. “Fire and Ice” is an entertaining, satisfying read.

Abandoned Memories
by
MaryLu Tyndall

, July 18, 2014
MaryLu Tyndall’s latest offering in the Escape to Paradise series, “Abandoned Memories”, is the third book chronicling the second chance taken by a shipload of passengers hoping for a better life in Brazil. The settings are lush and exotic. The characters are fleshy and authentic. The physical and spiritual battles they face are even more real! More than once, these novels have confronted me about something that needed changing in my own life. This is not just entertainment " these are life-changing reads! As I watched the characters develop from my armchair, I became frustrated with where I thought our leading lady was heading. I should have trusted MaryLu Tyndall not to develop a clichéd plotline! I was tempted to give up reading but I’m so glad I didn’t. This is an incredible story with lots of dramatic twists and excitement.

The Ransom: Legacy of the King's Pirates
by
Marylu Tyndall

As a member of MaryLu’s Motley Crew, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to my Captain for sending me a copy of "The Ransom" in exchange for an honest review. I am truly grateful for the privilege of supporting a wonderful author who loves Christ and doesn’t shy away from presenting Him in her books! Huzzah! “The Ransom” by MaryLu Tyndall is a luminous treasure! Overflowing with rich plot twists, sparkling humor, exotic settings and brilliantly crafted characters, this crown jewel of a novel is the long-awaited fourth offering in the Legacy of the King’s Pirates series. “The Ransom” reads beautifully as a stand-alone novel. The other books in the series (The Redemption, The Reliance and The Restitution) are wonderful, and I highly recommend them as well. Miss Juliana Dutton is living a lie! Following in her deceased mother’s footsteps, she has a heart for the less fortunate of Port Royal, Jamaica and frequently cares for their needs, but her father’s failing health has forced her to take on the task of running the family shipping business with no help from her flighty drunkard brother who has a gambling problem! She is also dealing with the attentions of three men: the obnoxious Captain Nichols, the foppish Lord Munthrope and the dashing and dangerous Pirate Earl! Captain Nichols wants it all - Juliana’s affections and the head of the Pirate Earl! Juliana, wanting nothing to do with the arrogant Captain, accepts a proposition from Lord Munthrope that will hopefully dissuade the Captain from pursuing her further. Lord Munthrope hopes to win over Juliana’s affections as they spend time together because of their bargain. But Juliana’s heart beats a bit faster whenever she encounters the Pirate Earl, who always seems to show up as her protector when she needs the Lord’s deliverance the most. The notorious Pirate has watched Juliana from afar since she arrived in Jamaica. He is touched by her kindness and genuine caring for the undesirables of Port Royal, so he has appointed himself her protector as she endeavors into the seedier parts of the city to care for her friends. This has given her the reputation of being the “Pirate Earl’s Lady”, a title that simultaneously thrills and repulses her! “The Ransom” is crafted as meticulously as one of Shakespeare’s comedies and detailed as richly. The scenes play out so crisply in the mind’s eye, I can’t help but feel this novel (and the others in the Legacy of the King’s Pirates series) would make a wonderful film! What a beautiful picture of Christ this novel paints. When Jesus came to earth, He was rejected because many saw Him as the foppish Lord Munthrope, weak and mad. But there were a select few who saw Him as the strong and protective Pirate Earl! My prayer is that those who read this amazing novel will see the Lord Jesus as a strong, caring and sensitive protector who put Himself in harm’s way to save our very souls! And that the realization will draw us to a place where we cannot spend enough time in His presence.

Elusive Hope

MaryLu Tyndall

I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to MaryLuTyndall for having me as a member of her Motley Crew of Influencers and for sending me a copy of "Elusive Hope" to review for her. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me. MaryLu Tyndall’s “Elusive Hope” is an entertaining romantic adventure with a healthy dose of the supernatural. Magnolia wants to leave the Brazilian community of New Hope to return to civilization in the United States and the fiancé she left behind. Hayden is searching for his father to keep a promise made to his mother on her deathbed. Their paths lead them to journey together and discover a mutual attraction that must be denied for their missions to be completed. Meanwhile, the community of New Hope is experiencing its own set of problems. Mysterious visions are being seen by the citizens and an ancient temple steeped in evil has been discovered. Several members of the community are reunited with past acquaintances in the jungle. This novel has it all: action, romance, a suspenseful storyline, lush locales and fleshy characters. This novel had me praying through man’s tendency to look at outward appearances versus God’s examination of the heart.
