Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. Bipolar Disorders

In my search for historical data on bipolar disorder, I found this book through the Multnomah County Library system (in Portland, OR) on the Inter Library Loan system. The ILL, through the MCLS, was the only place I could find the book to borrow. This book not only gave info I already knew through my researches, but also plenty info I had no idea existed. For those with interest in the subject of metal illness and specifically of bipolar illness, as well as those in the medical field, this book is an excellent source of historical info on this particular aliment. The history covered starts as early as Homer and Hippocrates over 2500 years ago, on through Emil Kraepelin and Wilhelm Weygandt at the end of the 19th century, and to the references dates of sources quoted to 2004, if not to the publishing date of 2005. A must-needs-book to add to one's medical library collection.

Lois & Clark: The Complete Third Season
by
Dean Cain

As all the other seasons, an absolute delight to watch. Rediscovered this series only recently. I recall watching when it first came out on TV, but only got to season two, I think, before had no available TV to continue. Some of the episodes are a bit corny, but still fun to watch. The chemistry between Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher is fabulous and I can't wait to view season four!
