This is the first Jack Reacher novel. It is fast-paced, has great dialogue, an intriguing storyline and a fastinating protagonist. What more could one want? Fortunately I read it before I knew Tom Cruise was going to play Jack Reacher in the movie, so I have a vision of Jack Reacher in my mind. Tom Cruise shows no resemblance to my version of Jack. I have since read the second book and will certainly read the third and beyond.

The Name of the Wind

This is perhaps the best book I have ever read, not just the best in 2010. This is a coming of age story, a mystery, a fantasy and so much more. Patrick Rothfuss has created a fascinating world for an unforgettable character, Kvothe. It is the first in a trilogy with the second book to be available on March 1, 2011.

This book made me laugh out loud, cry with grief, feel pride in the determination of people who succeed, and so many other emotions. Jody Seay is a wonderful story-teller.
