Far Far Away

I love this book. I expected the same old young adult story, guy meets girl, something supernatural happens to test the relationship, blah, blah blah. This book drew me in on the story. Setting it the story line was so well written. I couldn't help but fall in love with the town, the main characters and the setting in general. I felt swept up and every time the author set up for me to feel an emotion like compassion for a character, concern, joy and suspense I felt it every time (I can't say the same for most other young adult books which usually make me feel like I'm an adult watching kids play). I fell for Jemery and Ginger's story and really related to Ginger. I started reading this book, knowing nothing about it, doing no research of any kind. I was going off the cover and a recommendation from a user on Reddit. I asked users to recommend great YA books that were not connected to a series because I was tired of starting a great book to be left on a massive cliffhanger. This was a suggestion. I don't want to spoil the book, but I at one point was so shocked that I audibly gasped and that in the middle of the book. In fact it feels like this could have been two books (due to length and the way it was written) but I enjoyed it as is. I highly suggest anyone who loves books pick up this book! You will love it almost as much as I do.

James Herriots Cat Stories

Many years ago this book was given to me by my Great Grandmother as a Christmas present. I treasured this book as a child because I loved animals and I loved her. Now that she is gone I reread this book and I have to say the love is still there. James has a way of making a beautiful story out of his everyday life as a country vet in England helping farmers and townspeople alike. Normally his stories are great but his favorite stories are the ones that are the best ones. There is also another book called James Herriot's Favorite Dog Stories which is excellent as well and I highly recommend checking out. I would recommend this book to any James Herriot fan or to anyone who has never tried his books. It is also a great sample of his work to anyone either loves animals or likes to read.

Anna and the French Kiss

When first looking at this book you may be put off by the title. "French Kiss, is this book all about making out?" a friend of mine asked. No, it's not. It tells the story of Anna and Etienne St. Clair, two people going to school in Paris, the city of love. This is a wonderful story full of bright characters and a great setting. This books also has two companion novels Lola And The Boy Next Door and Isla And The Happily Ever After each one focusing on another girl and their story. While it is not a series I would recommend reading them in order. So if you are into romantic comedies or are just looking for a good story then I would recommend this book.
