Caught by You
by
Jennifer Bernard

CAUGHT BY YOU is the latest in Jennifer Bernard’s new series about the Kilby Catfish minor league baseball team and it’s one of her best yet. Set in the fictional town of Kilby, Texas, there’s romance, intrigue, dysfunction, and lots of fun. Our hero, Mike Solo, is a drool-worthy hunk guaranteed to make any woman fall at his feet. His pick is Donna, a wise-cracking wild woman with a secret and only Mike can help. There’s family dramas and some sadness, making the entire story real and warm. Even if you don’t like baseball, you’ll love CAUGHT BY YOU for its values and you’ll be rooting for a happy ever after.

Cowboy Command
by
Olivia Jaymes

, November 22, 2015
COWBOY COMMAND is the first installment in Olivia Jaymes’ Cowboy Justice Association series. It’s a unique premise of six men from various law enforcement backgrounds who band together secretly to fight organized crime in their area of Montana. Book one introduces the series and centers on local Sheriff Seth Riley. Seth is asked by a fellow lawmen to protect and hide the witness to a mob hit. He gets more than he bargained for when the witness turns out to be a young and very beautiful woman. It’s an sensual tale, steamy and hot. The relationship between Seth and Presley is well-written. I particularly enjoyed the fact that Olivia Jaymes melded a serious law enforcement suspense plot line into the eroticism of the romance. She’s able to take to very unrelated plot aspects and intertwine them very well. The characters both major and supporting are believable. While the premise of a clandestine group of law enforcement officials might seem a little far-fetched to some, in truth, it’s very likely that these associations do exist simply because of the necessity of seeking secrecy. That in itself leads much credibility to the story. If you’re looking for something exciting, suspenseful and hot I definitely recommend COWBOY COMMAND.

Yellow Rose Beauty Shop
by
Carolyn Brown
Heather Howard Lewis
, November 06, 2015
Carolyn Brown brings us a wonderful new book about the perils of family, friends, love, and small town Texas. Set in the fictional Texas town of Cadillac, the characters are reminiscent of the characters in great Southern books like FRIED GREEN TOMATOES with their sharp wit and unique outlooks on life. The setting of a small town beauty salon is even more fitting considering the main element of the story is gossip and its effects. Mystery only adds to the story as everyone tries to figure out who Stella’s man is and if Stella and her mama will ever make up. Supporting characters are what make this story and are all worthy of stories of their own, yet they never overpower and only add to the richness of the plot. THE YELLOW ROSE BEAUTY SHOP is an absolutely hilarious ride with more twists and turns than any back-country road I’ve ever driven on. It’s the best book I've read in 2015 and I can’t wait for the next one!

Shattered Perfection
by
Heather R. Guimond
Heather Howard Lewis
, October 20, 2015
Violence, true love and passion rules in Heather R. Guimond’s debut novel, SHATTERED PERFECTION. Set in Los Angeles and New York, the story centers around the whirlwind courtship and marriage of Mimi and Vance, two young legal professionals who meet by chance during a trip to New York. The chemistry is fierce from the start and emotions run high as Mimi and Vance’s relationship degrades into tragedy and hope. The main characters are strong and well-drawn with good supporting characters that add much along the way. It’s an emotional story, reflecting real life with its underlying theme of domestic violence. Predictability is low in the storyline, keeping everything moving forward and keeping the reader guessing. The plot is a departure from a traditional romance in that the HEA ending is a slight departure from the norm. It’s tied to a small cliffhanger at the end that shows great promise for a future book. No worries though, the story has a great wind up, tying nearly every loose end neatly. It’s a bit of a tear jerker but a wonderful first novel from an exciting new author. Heat level: 3.5 Rating: 4

Throttle Me
by
Bliss, Chelle
Heather Howard Lewis
, August 05, 2015
Motorcycles, tattoos and hot guys! The trinity is fulfilled with THROTTLE ME by Chelle Bliss a smart and sexy double fish out of water story. While the romantic pairing is stock with the good girl/bad guy scenario, Chelle Bliss has twisted that plot and turned it one hundred eighty degrees. What was good is bad and bad is good and it's a blast. Things are never what you see in the story as our couple work out their problems while falling in love. Intriguing secondary characters add much and make me want to know more about them and that’s great. This is the first novel in Chelle Bliss’ Men of Inked series about the Galos family so hold on to your hat for more. THROTTLE ME is an easy on the eyes read and a definite pleaser for any romance fan!

Witness to Passion
by
Naima Simone
Heather Howard Lewis
, August 05, 2015
It’s not often that I read a romance that’s so full of non-stop excitement. But when I do, you can bet I’ll review it. WITNESS TO PASSION by Naima Simone is that kind of novel, the good old fashioned, “run for your life and fall in love” sort of book that keeps you on your seat and leaves you satisfied. There’s fun there too. It’s great to watch Shane as he struggles with his duty and his feelings for Fallon. He’s the type of hero that we all love to read, a cracked and scratched hero like heroes should be. The plot works well and is very plausible. The non-stop action drives the story well and the characters are very believable. The romance between Fallon and Shane is hot and shares the focus of the story well instead of overpowering or being overpowered. That’s a great balance that not easy to write and Naima Simone has succeeded well. It’s definitely one for your to be read list!

One Sexy Ride
by
Arend, Vivian
Heather Howard Lewis
, July 20, 2015
Vivian Arend continues the story of the Thompson family of mechanics in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta with her novella, ONE SEXY RIDE. The story focuses on Len Thompson, a quiet and shy man who has never eyes for anyone but Janey, his younger sister Katy’s best friend. ONE SEXY RIDE is a sweet story about ordinary characters much like people we all know, live with, or perhaps are. It’s a last chance story that leads to forever, with a few rocks strewn along the way. Conflict isn’t too complicated and is easily resolved. There’s a great reversal of roles among our main characters that was a pleasant surprise to me and added much to the overall theme. Supporting characters are prominent and play important roles in the story as many of Vivian Arend’s characters do. There are revisits of couples from the two previous Thompson and Sons stories as well as a nod to their Coleman neighbors from the Six Pack Ranch series. If you are looking for a pleasant read that will leave you with a smile, ONE SEXY RIDE is the ride for you. It’s a passion-filled ride sprinkled with honey!

Rodeo Queen
by
T. J. Kline
Heather Howard Lewis
, July 05, 2015
RODEO QUEEN by T.J. Kline is a sweet story set in, you guessed it, rodeo land. With cowboys, horses, cattle and all the rhinestones and glitter you can handle, it’s a fun read even after two years. The plot is simple, a young woman wants to prove herself in a man’s world, finding love along the way. Our heroine Sydney proves she’s no slacker despite our hero Scott’s belief that she is. The characters are drawn well with great supporting characters that add much and don’t overpower. It’s a story of the backstage of rodeo with the promoters, stock contractors and the people who plan and run the show, an interesting twist on the rodeo cowboy story. It’s hard to believe it’s T.J. Kline’s first book, it's that good. So if you are looking for a fun story RODEO QUEEN is a good bet.
