Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance-Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem
by
Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen

My expectations were a little high for this one- I mean, the cover is fantastic! And it combines two of my favorite things. I was disappointed. Not enough zombies. For as much straight P&P story I was annoyed to not just be reading the original. For many chapters I hoped for the zombie situation to better integrate. I would have enjoyed either more shocking comedic moments involving Satan's Army or more actual literary integration in terms of themes or societal commentary, or both. Alas, it was quite unsatisfying. I still love the cover though.

Pride Prejudice & Jasmin Field

This is a smartly funny read and a favorite in the world of brit chick lit. Pretty good on the theater backstage story and possibly on the columnist and minor celebrity actor backstage settings too. It's got charm and is fairly successful at an engaging Pride & Prejudice story overlay. Laughs, lessons learned, awkward incidents and family resilience.

Love Walked In
by
Marisa De Los Santos

You might find the title a little off-putting, but it is a bigger kind of love than so many chick-lit books attempt. This is a story of all kinds of relationships and the many puzzles of love and life. The main characters are charming, complicated females. De Los Santos has captured wit in dialogue on a par with favorite black & white screwball comedies. The romance, friendships, & familial relationships are so satisfying and complicated! The unfolding plot will have you wishing for a rainy day and a quiet comfy spot to really fall into the world of this book.
