Dizz Tate:
Books That Made Me Want to Write: Dizz Tate’s Bookshelf for Brutes
(0 comment)
When I was writing my book,
Brutes
, there came a point where I wanted to be thinking about it even when I was so tired of it I couldn’t bear to look at it anymore. I was also terrified of leaving it alone, like the book would forget me if I stopped reminding it I was there...

Bookshop Book

This book is about a lot of the indie bookshops all over the world. Some huge bookshops (Powells included!) and some tiny bookshops you've probably never heard of. It is a fantastic little book. If you love books, and book then I can't recommend this book enough!

A great and honest book about a teen struggling with agoraphobia and OCD. The writing made me roll my eyes every so often, but that is a minor thing compared to how important this book is for teens struggling with their mental health, and people wanting to know more about mental health. I highly recommend picking this book up!

I flew through this thing in two days (in the middle of a reading slump where I dnf'd a perfectly good 200 page middle grade book just because I couldn't read anymore) and really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend.

Forbidden Wish

Jessica Khoury

This book very pleasantly surprised me and I say that because 1, I've never read anything that Jessica Khoury has written (although that may need to be remedied after reading this) 2, I didn't know this book was even a thing until I saw someone talk about it on Twitter a couple months ago. Rather than a full spoiler review, I'll just give you some non-spoiler selling points: 1. This book is written extremely well. The language Khoury has used is simply amazing. 2. The world she has created is absolutely beautiful and refreshing from a lot of other ya fantasy I have read lately. 3. The characters. Asdfgghjjkll. I loved Zahra and Aladdin so much as our main characters. The dialogue between them was great and often pretty funny. 4. The book is fast paced and the plot is really interesting, I didn't want to put it down, and when I did, I just wanted to pick it back up again. I recommend picking this up.
