Amatka

This is a novel I could talk about for hours and hours. I'm seriously so glad a book as weird & philosophical & special as Amatka exists. It has everything I love in a dystopia — assigned households & jobs, creepy propaganda, covert medical operations, regimented design. And mushrooms?? And goo? And mysterious industrial pipes? I love it.

So good!! Fforde is a master at introducing this strange world in an organic, exciting way. He is the most inventive author out there. I haven't stopped thinking about SOG since I first read it: the Last Rabbit, the colorful (ha) cast of characters, the perpetulite road, the flak towers, etc!
