Your First Novel A Published Author & a Top Agent Share the Keys to Achieving Your Dream
by
Ann Rittenberg

Aspiring authors, take note! Portland author Whitcomb has written the ultimate guide to getting your book in shape. Her agent, Anne Rittenberg, writes the second half of the book which is aimed at getting your novel in the hands of an agent, and then publisher. I've read it through at least four times, and each time I find something new. Would be a great Christmas gift for the writer you know, or get one for yourself, if you want to turn up the oomph on your ms.

Amazing! I bought this when it was recommended by a friend (which is the way I buy most of my books, unless I can find them at the library. It blew my socks off. I read it in one night, stopping only to nurse my newborn. Then I thought about if for a few days, then read it again. Then I bought some as presents for my sister and a friend. PArt ghost story, party love story, one whole amazing novel. The writing is so facile that you don't notice anything but the story. The second reading I made an effort to pay attention to the words and was shocked by the utter originality of the phrases, the descriptions. I hate it when people call a book 'haunting', but in this case, it fits! And the best part? She's a Portland author! She was just nominated for a prize for the German language edition and I haven't heard yet if she won...
