Marriage Plot
by
Jeffrey Eugenides

Jeffrey Eugenides, were you a specter in my Contemporary Fiction class? I swear to you, I've taken the class described in the beginning of The Marriage Plot -- with the same people. The Marriage Plot should be mandatory reading for those of us who have ever found life's meanings in a book. The novel is a delightful, relatable, serious, and seriously funny story of three very different people coming of age in the early 1980s. A truly fantastic read.

Beautifully written, The Turning is an amazing book of monumental proportions. The modern Winesburg, Ohio; Tim Winton outdoes himself with this collection of stories.
