It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Sunday Morning Quilts: 16 Modern Scrap Projects - Sort, Store, and Use Every Last Bit of Your Treasured Fabrics

This book has several great ways to use up your fabric scrap. It not only gives you several beautiful patterns for quilts using up your small scraps, it has great tips and techniques in general. Easy to understand instructions too. There are 3 quilts I want to make right away from this book, the biggest problem is figuring out which one to start on first.

I just received a copy of Elizabeth Hartman's book & I can't wait to go home and sew. All the quilts are beautiful and the directions are very detailed. Just looking at the wonderful fabric choices makes my mouth water. I read Elizabeth Hartman's blog at least once a week and always find something interesting. This book is a staple for any quilter’s library.

Plenty Enough Suck to Go Aroun

I read this book because my husband is from New Orleans. I never had a very good idea of what everyone went through after the floods. There are parts that made me cry and very angry that as a nation we abandon New Orleans after the Hurricane. If you want to know how people survived after the floods pick up this book and educate yourself. It's a sad, funny story of how 2 people overcame the devastation that was Hurricane Katrina and built back their home and community.
