Not just for young adults - this novel was comic, tragic, and one of the best reads I've had in a long time.

I read this book for a reading group - a short book with such precision in the writing, but so many ways to read things. We had a lengthy discussion and each of us saw things the others did not. One of the best reads of 2010.

Citadel of the Spirit Oregons Sesquicentennial Anthology
by

Excellent collection of essays, stories, and tidbits of Oregon history in honor of the 150th in 2009. Matt Love weaves a tapestry of what makes Oregon so essentially Oregon - bottle bills, communes, rain, characters, and more. A must read for natives (you will learn something, trust me) and for our imported friends alike.
