The Great Gastby is the best description of the era of crappy booze, grand parties and lavish clothes. Fitzgerald depicts the Jazz age in both it's grandeur and its downfall perfectly. His characters are exquisite in that you get to know them individually, you fall in love with some, you hate some so pattionately you want their demise, and you feel sorry for some. It leaves you wanting to know JUST who Jay Gatsby is. It doesn't matter how many times you read it, you still can never fully answer this omnimous question. JUST WHO IS GATSBY?
