Roger Ebert, the only film critic I believe to ever win a Pulitzer Prize, is a remarkable national treasure 'no connection to the sub-par action/family film he derided in 2004 or its sequel this past fall'... :' His reviews are remarkable, his prose is gorgeous and his opinions are almost always spot on 'I've never AGREED with a critic like I have him - occasionally, when I disagree with Ebert, Roeper comes in to pick up the slack :'... This collection will contain EVERY 4 star review 'read: 'great' movie' from 1967 'the beginning of Ebert's career at the Chicago Sun-Times' to late 2007 'he remarkably got every review up to late September's The Lives of Others!'... This book has been delayed a bit since last October, but it's finally in release and promises to be a sure-fire, must- have for every Ebertphile's collection! Some of the great 4-star reviews should include: Altman's 'Nashville' and 'A Prairie Home Companion,' P.T. Anderson's 'Boogie Nights' and 'Magnolia,' Almodovar's 'Talk to Her' and 'Volver,' The Coen Brothers' 'Blood Simple' and 'Fargo,' Brian De Palma's 'Femme Fatale,' Spike Lee's 'Do the Right Thing' and 'Malcolm X,' EVERY Mike Leigh film except for 'Career Girls' '! - including 'Naked' and 'Secrets & Lies'', Scorsese's ouvre from 'Mean Streets' and 'Taxi Driver' to 'Raging Bull,' 'After Hours' and 'The Last Temptation of Christ,' as well as such modern masterworks as 'GoodFellas,' 'Casino,' 'Bringing Out the Dead,' 'The Aviator' and 'The Departed' '!!!', not to mention Oliver Stone's many great works: 'Talk Radio,' 'JFK,' 'Natural Born Killers' and 'Nixon' '!!!'... The list goes on and on... Also many overlooked films such as Larry Clark's 'Bully,' John Hillcoat's 'The Proposition,' Lucky McKee's 'May' and Alex Proyas' 'Dark City' will be included, and many many more!!! Can't wait! Also recommended: The Great Movies, The Great Movies II, I Hated Hated Hated This Movie!, Your Movie Sucks, Roger Ebert Movie Home Companion and Yearbook '1987-2007 annual', Roger Ebert's Little 'Big?' Movie Glossary, etc. !!!
