Synopsis
Excerpt from A Short View of Great Questions
These three theories are very old, and it is not of rec ord that the mind of man has conceived any other, differ ing from them in its basic form. Of the three, one must be true; and two false. We are at the point where there are three forks to the road, and only one is the right way. It is not the policy of wisdom to halt, or to proclaim that there is no way out. It is even better to advance on the wrong road than to stand still for the wrong road when explored must yield some evidence that it is the way of error.
