Synopsis
Excerpt from The Situation in El Salvador
We took a look at what did the war damages, what did they amount to. They are difficult to quantify, and these figures are based upon some run through our Embassy from the Salvadoran Chamber of Commerce. The largest damage was agricultural. Most of the fighting is done in rural areas, and this accounts for dam ages to crops, to livestock, to equipment, and commerce, industry, the infrastructure, and the rest of it.
