Synopsis
In 1959, Janice is born and six months later, despairing of ever being able to buy a home in the UK, the family decides to up sticks and move to Australia. 'Within a decade, a family of two became a family of six. Together my parents built a dream and when I was six months old, they packed what they could and with four young children, boarded a ship bound for Australia in search of that dream. That was the day we became what was known as Ten Pound Poms.' Her parents buy some acreage just outside a small hamlet about 70 kilometres north of Melbourne in a tough and arid land. Will this new life in Australia make or break Janice? Only time will tell.
