Die Thematik umspannt Heldenepik, hfischen Roman, Mystik (mit zwei Ersteditionen), Erzhlliteratur im Sptmittelalter und Nachwirkung mittelalterlicher Literatur in Frhrenaissance, Barock und Gegenwart ebenso wie das Grenzgebiet zwischen Literatur, Philosophie und Religion. Die Beitrge greifen zentrale Forschungen Walter Haugs auf und fhren sie produktiv weiter. Im Miteinander von streng philologischer Textarbeit und theoretischer Reflexion erffnet der Band neue Zugnge zum Verstndnis mittelalterlicher Literatur.
