About the Author
Kara DioGuardi's songs have appeared on more than 159 million albums. She is a Grammy-nominated hitmaker, a 2011 NAMM Music for Life Award winner, 2009 NMPA Songwriter Icon Award winner, and 2007 BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year. In addition, she has received fifteen BMI Awards for cowriting the most-performed songs on the radio. Kara also works at Warner Bros. Records, where she serves as executive vice president of talent development; co-owns Arthouse Entertainment, a music-publishing venture with Bug Music; and is currently appearing as a judge on Platinum Hit, Bravo's new reality show in search of America's best songwriters. She lives in Los Angeles and Maine with her husband, Mike McCuddy, and her dog Tikki, and loves spending time with her stepdaughter, Elora.
