About the Author
Author Profile Michael Durbin is a writer, educator, and software engineer specializing in high frequency trading of financial derivatives. He also serves as an adjunct professor at both Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he designs and delivers graduate courses in financial derivatives. In previous positions, he played key roles in the development of highly profitable option pricing and trading systems for the Citadel Investment Group and for Blue Capital Group. Durbin also helped build derivative pricing and trading systems for Bank of America and Bank One. He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, an MS in Information Systems from DePaul University, and a BS in Communication from Northwestern University.
