This book and writer need to be better known! I am a white woman and I found it fascinating to read a book from the perspective a of a black woman who works as a domestic. The personas she needs to keep at hand, the ability to make herself invisible, the way she defends herself while remaining "polite," and all of this while doing her job! I think Ms. Neely did a great job of working within the constraints of white-racist America and creating a main character with self-respect and who takes care of herself. And it's also a good mystery! I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
