A reprint of a 1981 book, this is.... well, weird. The author has some unusual ideas, and analyzes several films from a Freudian standpoint. I am by no means a film historian or a film studies major, but I thought I was pretty well versed in cinema. I would say half of these films I have never heard of, which was startling. My Netflix que is going to see a lot of updating. For anyone interested in pre 1981 cinema, and has not already viewed everything, this is a good guide.
